Spin-out
A new company that is created from a research organization or academic "institution " typically created to commercialize a specific technology
Pre-IPO
A term used to describe a private company that is preparing to go public through an initial public offering (IPO).
Down round
A funding round in which a startup raises capital at a lower valuation than in its previous round.
Seed plus
A round of funding that comes after the seed "stage " typically for startups that have achieved more traction and validation
